about

This song is about my early experiences living with a chronic illness and grieving the loss of my health. In 2014, I lost the ability to do a lot of things I had previously taken for granted. At the time I wrote this I couldn’t read for more than a few minutes at a time and a short walk around the block could leave me bedridden the next day. This song was an attempt to voice some of the pain and the loneliness of that; of not understanding what was happening to me. Thanks for listening! Love Fran

lyrics

When you come, and take the order
Break my body, cling to me
Wrestle with a sleep disorder
That’s a possibility

Nothing’s right, nothing’s wrong
Oh, I’m just drifting out to sea
Couldn’t write, couldn’t walk
But the steps rolled on in front of me

If I stay within this border
Maybe I won’t fall into the sea
And If I count my steps in perfect order
Will I mitigate the misery?

Nothing’s right, nothing’s wrong
Oh, I’m just drifting out to sea
Just sit back ‘til I’m gone
Oh, I’m just drifting out to sea

Nothing’s and right and nothing’s wrong
When nothing’s right and nothing’s wrong
Nothing’s and right and nothing’s wrong
When nothing’s right and nothing’s wrong

Oh, I see. You only did this to test me.
You only did this to test me.
You only did this to test…
I see. You only did this to test me.
You only did this to test me.
You only did this to test…
